(WXYZ) — It's been months since Michigan voters chose to legalize recreational marijuana, and the Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency has set the date for its first public meeting.
The agency will hold its first meeting on Thursday, June 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Williams Building, located at 525 W. Ottawa Street in Lansing.
The MRA is required to hold at least four meetings with the public each year. The meetings are "for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving the views of the public regarding the administration of the authorities, powers, duties, functions, and responsibilities vested in the agency."
The meeting will also be live streamed on LARA's Facebook page for those who can't make it.
According to LARA, the purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment on the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act from 2008, the Michigan Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act from 2016, the Marihuana Taxing Act of 2016 and the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act of 2018.
