We already knew that Michigan had some of the best fall colors, but now, readers across the U.S. have recognized the UP for the best fall foliage.

USA Today's 10Best ranks Michigan's Upper Peninsula as the best destination for fall foliage, based on readers' choice for 2018.

"Just about the entire Upper Peninsula puts on a display of fall color that peaks during the last two weeks of September and the first week of October," USA Today writes. "A favorite fall experience for leaf peepers is the drive along M-26 along the shores of Lake Roland and past the trees of Copper Country State Forest."

Da UP beat out the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, Door County in Wisconsin and the North Conway & White Mountains in New Hampshire.

On top of that readers also chose Spicer Orchards in Fenton, Mich. as the third-best apple orchard in the country, behind Kiyokawa Family Orchards in Parkdale, Ore. and Beak & Skiff Apple Orchard in LaFayette, N.Y.
