Michigan State Police will be paying extra attention to commercial vehicles on I-94 next week as part of a multi-state effort to reduce commercial vehicles crashes.
In partnership with the Indiana State Police, Illinois State Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol, the "Eyes on 94" campaign will take place from Dec. 3-7 on I-94.
During the initiative, motor carriers will focus on violations by commercial vehicles that include speeding, following too close, improper passing, distracted driving and improper lane use.
“We hope to increase awareness by means of high visibility enforcement on the I-94 corridor, which is prone to weather-related crashes this time of year involving interstate commercial vehicle drivers," MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division Commander Capt. Michael Krumm said in a release.
