(WXYZ) — The first Portillo's restaurant in Michigan is scheduled to open in Sterling Heights in March.
According to the company, the Portillo's is located at 14425 Lakeside Circle and will open on March 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
“We always look forward to opening Portillo’s in new markets,” said CEO Michael Osanloo. “Fans in Michigan have been asking for a Portillo’s for years, so we’re very excited to bring our unrivaled Chicago street food and the signature Portillo’s experience to the community of Sterling Heights.”
The restaurant is now hiring about 150 people for the new restaurant, and more information can be found at portillos.com/careers.
It will serve up signature items like Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, burgers and more.
The 7,900-square-foot restaurant will seat more than 180 guests and have a garage-style theme with automotive elements.
There will also be a double drive-thru and an outdoor patio.
