SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WXYZ( — She had been missing since New Year's Eve. Now, police say, 31-year-old Amanda Hilton was found dead behind the apartments where she lived with her husband.
He’s being held as the suspect and police say he’s cooperating.
Missing person posters went up on social media last week.
Police say Hilton’s mother called to say it is not like her daughter to be out of contact for so long. That’s when police took a closer look and say Hilton had been shot in the head.
It is not clear how long the body had been outside in the elements.
The case will go to the Wayne County Prosecutor and charges could be issued tomorrow or Thursday.
