A fight in prison lead to gunshots inside a Pontiac bar. The man police say is responsible, escapes custody. Now, the U.S. Marshals need your help finding this dangerous fugitive.
Larry Emery has done prison time and the U.S. Marshals say it’s time for him to go back.
But, they say people are hiding him and that family and friends not cooperating with police. That’s where you come in.
“He’s at a bar with a gun and he shoots somebody, shoots two people, luckily he didn’t shoot more people, the bar was full, 50 to 60 people at the bar,” Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said.
It was a terrifying night in a crowded bar.
“This guy gets into an argument with this guy over a pick-up basketball game in prison,” Garcia said.
Police say Larry Emery’s beef with another inmate didn’t stay in lock up when he was released from prison one year ago.
“They’re both from the same area, they bump into each other at this bar in Pontiac- Duckett’s Bar,” Garcia said. “Emery basically goes up to him and is like hey what’s up now and he shots the guy and it hits a female as well.”
That brazen act sent two people to the hospital with gunshot wounds and the Oakland County Fugitive Apprehension Team out hunting for Larry Emery.
“They arrest him, take him into custody. Everyone thinks the case is closed,” Garcia said.
Little did they know, a few hours later after being interviewed sheriff’s department, Emery managed to escape.
“Who knows what he’s going to do now, he’s still on the lamb, the victims are still out there, he’s still out the run,” Garcia said.
Larry Emery is 38-years-old, he’s 6-feet-tall 180 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous. Emerey is a Pontiac native but has ties to the west side of the state and Ohio.
“We have gotten zero cooperation from any family or associates out there,” Garcia said. “We’re gonna need a viewer tip, we’re gonna need a tipster to call in to put this guy behind bars we seem to be hitting dead ends everywhere we go with this case.”
