A 31-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on eastbound M-59 east of Livingston Road in Highland Township.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck was stopped in the median crossing, waiting to turn left onto EB M-59 as a 2013 Suzuki 750 motorcycle was traveling eastbound on M-59.
As the Sierra entered the left lane from the median crossing, the motorcycle struck the rear of the truck.
Police say several witnesses stated that the motorcycle was speeding and driving in a reckless manner before striking the truck.
The motorcyclist was treated for his injuries and stabilized. He was then transferred to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Sierra was not injured.
Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor on behalf of the motorcyclist. The crash remains under investigation.
