National Weather Service confirms 3 tornadoes touched down in metro Detroit

The National Weather Service has confirmed three total tornadoes touched down in metro Detroit Tuesday night. 

In the span of about a half hour, three tornadoes emerged out of the same storm. 

At 8:23 p.m., an EF-1 tornado made landfall in Frenchtown Township in Monroe County with estimated winds at 95-100 mph and traveled 4.3 miles. 

At 8:45 p.m., an EF-0 tornado traveled from Berlin Township to Rockford at 65 mph winds. The same storm caused damage to homes in the Gilbraltar area.

The storm finally dissipated around 8:52 p.m.
