(WXYZ) — AMC Theatres announced a detailed plan to ensure a "clean and healthy movie-watching environment" amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The company will be capping ticket availability to 50% of the normal seating capacity for every showtime in every auditorium.
Once there is 50% seating capacity, screenings will show as "sold out," even though there will be a large number of unfilled seats.
AMC says this will begin Saturday, March 14 and will continue until April 30.
There will also be enhanced cleaning protocols, where staff will be cleaning high touch-point areas at least once per hour.
