Social media lit up Tuesday night with tributes to legendary TV actor Alan Thicke, after news of his death began circling the web.
The 69-year-old’s death was first reported by TMZ, which said the Canadian-born actor died suddenly of a heart attack.

Celebrities and fans subsequently took to Twitter to honor Thicke, best known for his role as the father on “Growing Pains.”
