Walmart is trying to attract hundreds of new truck drivers this year, the position coming with a nearly $90,000 paycheck.
The company announced that it is raising driver pay beginning in February. The raise, a 1-cent per mile increase and additional pay for every arrival, means Walmart drivers will now earn on average $87,500 a year.
Walmart says it hired 1,400 new truck drivers in 2018 and is trying to hire hundreds more in 2019 due to an industry-wide shortage.
To qualify for the job, drivers must have 30 months of experience in the past three years and a clean safety record.
The raise is set to take affect on February 1. To apply,
