DETROIT (WXYZ) — Oak Park police are searching for 23-year-old Devonte Bailey, who is wanted in the fatal shooting of his brother-in-law.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday inside a home on Burton Street off Coolidge Highway, where the 29-year-old brother-in-law lived.

According to Oak Park police, the two men got into an argument that turned deadly.

Oak Park Lt. Troy Taylor told 7 Action News Bailey now lives in Oak Park, but is originally from out-of-state. Police believe Bailey may be headed toward the Detroit area.

"We’re assuming that he’s on foot. He doesn’t have access to any vehicle. And he really doesn’t have anywhere to go," Taylor said.

Bailey should be considered armed and dangerous.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with the words "Security" in white lettering on the back, blue shorts and brown Timberland boots.

Anyone with information should call 911 or Oak Park Police at 248-691-7520.
