RIVER ROUGE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting with Detroit police in River Rouge.
The incident happened Thursday at 5 p.m. along Palmerston Street.
MSP say two plain clothes Detroit police officers were involved in the shooting. The officers were in the area to talk to an individual regarding another investigation.
When the officers exited their vehicle, there was a suspect who exited another vehicle with a long gun and opened fire. Police are unclear of why the man exited the vehicle with a gun and opened fire.
Police say a suspect has sustained gunshot wounds and is now at a local hospital. He is in good condition.

There were two Detroit police officers involved in the shooting and neither were hurt. Police add that there were no injuries to any community members and there is no immediate danger to the public.
This is an ongoing investigation.
