The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a 49-year-old has been recovered in the water at Sterling State Park.
Officials say they found the victim, now identified as Corey Michael Carrabino of Monroe, around 1 p.m.
According to the sheriff's office, Carrabino was found in 8 feet of water and about 50 yards from shore. Officials believe he went in the water to get a remote control boat that stopped working.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office along with the Frenchtown Township Fire Department initially responded to the swimming area Monday evening but were unable to locate the victim.
