WXYZ DETROIT — Let’s kick off our first Community Comment of 2025 with reaction to our station editorial about the importance of donating and volunteering. Fran Jackson said:
“Your message was perfect for the holiday season.”
Phillip Nice wrote:
“Already gave to Israel and Ukraine.”
Our two editorials about the re-engineered winter Detroit Auto Show prompted these comments. Joe Payer’s post was positively simple:
“Good luck!”
Another TV-7 viewer added:
“I think they lost their luster when they went to summertime.”
- Phil Morris
But most of our mail was in reaction to our Newsmaker of the Year editorial honoring Visit Detroit CEO Claude Molinari and Lion’s quarterback Jared Goff.
The I.A.T.S.E. Local 38 union wrote:
“Two Detroit powerhouses! Thank you, gentlemen, for your untiring efforts in promoting Detroit as ‘the place to be.’”
Marcia Tanner-Carr added her clapping portrait.
Mary Neighbour posted her congratulations image and said:
“Well deserved! Thank you!”
Mary Leonard Garant displayed two large words of approval on Facebook.
Another viewer said:
“No one works harder than Claude Molinari! He deserves this so much.”
- Kelly Rousseau Lauderbaugh
Karen McGinnes wrote:
“That’s amazing! Congrats!”
And there were a couple tributes from Claude Molinari’s family. His wife said:
“No one loves Detroit more than this guy.”
- Kelly Nelson Molinari
And this from Judith Nelson:
“So proud of my son-in-law!” (Show: Her clapping hands image)
Finally, Sam Klemet, leader of the Detroit Auto Show sent us this message:
“The best! So well deserved. “
You can see our Newsmaker tribute to Molinari and Goff on Friday evening and Sunday morning on our Spotlight on the News special.
Thanks for writing and watching.
