Our station editorial honoring the Detroit Urban League's Distinguished Warriors drew this reaction. Neil Addison said:
"What an outstanding group of Detroiters! Each of them are role models for our children. Thank you Urban League for recognizing them."
Gwen Hunter wrote:
"I watched each of the video tributes with smiles of pride and tears of joy for what these individuals managed to accomplish in their careers against great odds. We stand on their shoulders."
D. Kendrick made this observation:
"The Detroit Urban Leagues awards are an important reminder that black and white Americans have been working together for years to fight discrimination. Now is not the time to turn back the clock on that progress."
Our editorial about springtime renewal, the Police Athletic League's new Corner Ballpark and Ford's possible interest in purchasing the old Michigan Central Station triggered these comments.
Robert Austin wrote:
"I was angry and sad when the old Tiger Stadium closed its doors. But the new PAL ballpark can be a wonderful field of dreams for Detroit kids and perhaps future hall of famers."
Liz Crocker weighed in with this:
"Please Ford, buy Matty Moroun's Michigan Central building! Then turn it into a historic gem we can all be proud to say, 'It's made in Detroit.'"
And finally, this response from one of our neighboring viewers in Canada:
"We have no love for Mr. Moroun but selling his building to Ford would be a positive step forward and a boost to his image!"
