WXYZ DETROIT — Election Day 2020 is now history. The voters have spoken but the emotions and opinions derived from a long and hard-fought campaign season will continue to linger. Our station editorial urging people to be educated voters is a good example.
Patricia Miorelli said:
“I’m not liberal, I’m already educated!”
Tim Irvin asked us this question:
“Will you supply the truth or just your agenda?”
Dawn Vollmer sent in this statement:
“I wouldn’t listen to liberal media.”
Lynn Dybalski wrote:
“What cracks me up are all the comments trashing Channel 7 yet they continue to read (and) comment day after day. Lol!”
Carl Varcie added this comment:
“If you are going to get educated two weeks before the election, maybe you should just stay home.”
Fred Sanford wrote:
“An educated voter would not vote for the duopoly. Republicans = democrats. Democrats = republicans. Now, go vote Red or Blue.”
Our editorial that reminded voters to not forget the down ballot proposals triggered another viewer to urge fellow voters to:
“Vote NO on screwing over gas and oil companies. Vote YES on needing a warrant to look into my electronic devices.”
- David Bazydlo
Amy Baker advised:
“Go to the website that plainly explains what the proposals are. Not that hard.”
And finally, like many other viewers, Paul Cullen is just thankful that Channel 7 and the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s Light up the Season at Campus Martius Park will shine brightly this holiday season even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks for writing and watching!
