It’s been a busy year of listening and learning.  Our Detroit 2020 town hall meetings have helped us stay in touch with the issues affecting your lives, jobs and communities.  We’re looking forward to our next face-to-face discussion in Dearborn on Tuesday.

Our home site for the evening will be the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center on Michigan Avenue.  The doors will open at 6:15 p.m.   This will be the sixth Town Hall Meeting of 2017 in Southeast Michigan.    Like the ones we’ve held previously in Sterling Heights, Taylor, Detroit, Troy and our own Channel 7 studio, we will not come with a set agenda.   We will simply gather together to listen and give the Dearborn community a voice.

Dearborn and the area surrounding it is one of our most historic and culturally diverse neighborhoods.  It’s a region that has encountered many changes over the years but throughout it all has contributed greatly to the strong work ethic and image of metro Detroit.

Led by Action News Anchor Carolyn Clifford, our team of reporters and producers will be on hand to field your questions and comments.     We invite you to join us in person, on-air, or on the WXYZ Facebook Live broadcast to engage with us in real time on Tuesday evening, December 5th.   We are eager to hear your stories of progress, challenges and what you hope the future will hold.  It promises to be a fascinating forum.

Real understanding always begins with a good listening ear.  That, in turn, can lead to a more united region where we take action to move forward as one proud community!

I’m Mike Murri, Vice President & General Manager
