WXYZ DETROIT — Over the next few weeks, parents, guardians, educators and elected leaders will have to make some very difficult decisions. Depending on your school and district, what will be the safest way to educate Michigan students? In this COVID-19 pandemic, that will be a monumental task with no easy answers. One size will not fit all!
But now is the time for all of the key players to be engaged, ask the important questions, do your homework and make your voice heard. We urge everyone to work together with one common goal in mind; to educate our children, the workforce of the future, as safely as possible. As health experts work to get the virus under control, what safeguards will we be needed in our schools? What resources will educators and parents require to help students learn well virtually or in-person?
WXYZ is committed to helping provide the information you need to make good individual choices for your children. Action News has been covering this topic from all angles with our reporters, anchors and
chief health editor, Dr. Partha Nandi. We invite you to go to wxyz.com for all of the reports and answers to your questions in our “Safely Back to School” section. You can also visit our Rebound Detroit page for additional Coronavirus information. All of these resources can be accessed on your favorite mobile device.
We salute all of the educators who have been striving to safely teach our students during COVID-19. You too are heroes and working together we will get through this crisis.
