DETROIT (WXYZ) — Democracy 2020 is bringing Democrats to Detroit's front door as 20 candidates will face off during the second Democratic Presidential Debate, happening this week at the Fox Theatre.
Many candidates are already in the Motor City, showing that Michigan is decidedly a battleground state.
South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg was fundraising over the weekend, as was Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Sanders even headed across the border to Windsor to pick up insulin from a Canadian pharmacy.
The debates take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Fox Theatre and parts of Woodward Ave. near the Fox are closed off, and Hockeytown Cafe across the street is transforming into the media center, hosting members of the media from around the country.
