EATON COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 21-year-old pet alligator was found dead on the side of a Michigan road Thursday morning, WLNS reports.
According to WLNS, the gator, named Wally, was a pet that had escaped his home.
He was found in the grass in front of a local business near the intersection of Creyts Road and Mt. Hope in Eaton County.
It is legal to own alligators as pets in Michigan because gators are not indigenous to the state, WLNS reports.
