Babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan donned costumes in celebration of their very first Halloween.
The babies were dressed up in a variety of costumes, from Frankenstein to a Starbucks coffee cup.

A spokesperson for the Detroit Medical Center said in an email that the annual tradition helps "to bring joy and a sense of normalcy to the parents during an otherwise stressful time."
"Having a photo of their baby in their first costume can be incredibly meaningful," the spokesperson said.
