Ypsilanti Police found a 19-year-old woman dead in an apartment Friday night.
Police officers were called out to LeForge and Huron River Road at 9 p.m. after reports of a man in blood stained clothing armed with knives making threats. Police detained the man and were led to University Green Apartments, where they found a 19-year-old woman dead inside one of the apartments.
Resident Jonathan Callahan said he saw the police arrive late last night.
“I did see some cop cars. Probably four or five cop cars. Kitty corner from my apartment,” Callahan said.
He doesn't know the victim but worries about the safety of the younger kids at the apartment.
“What I’m worried about is the kids. I don’t want the kids to think they can’t play outside and things like that,” Callahan said.
Ypsilanti Police have not released the name of the victim or if the man has been arrested.
