They're volunteers who honor police and firefighters at their funerals and they're holding a fundraiser to continue their mission.
The Metro Detroit Police and Fire Pipes and Drum Band doesn't charge for its services. Members say the road is never too far to show respect to a fallen officer.
The band is holding a big fundraiser Saturday night. It runs from 7 p.m. to midnight at the American Legion Hall in Berkley, 2079 12 Mile Road.
Admission is $15 and includes draft beer, raffle tickers and snacks.
