Police are investigating several shootings, critical hit-and-run in Detroit overnight

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating several incidents that happened Friday night into Saturday.

Here is preliminary information from the Detroit Police Department:

Critical Hit and Run Accident in the area of Grand River and Whitcomb

On June 5, around 10:25 p.m. in the area of Grand River and Whitcomb, the 19-year-old female victim was crossing the street at the intersection when the suspect driving an unknown vehicle struck her then sped off west on Grand River.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by medics and listed in critical condition.

Fatal Assault or Shooting in the area of Elmhurst and Linwood

On June 5, around 11:38 p.m. in the area of Elmhurst and Linwood, the 63-year-old male victim was discovered with wounds to the body while he was inside of a gray 2008 Chevy Aveo.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by medics where he succumbed to his injuries, police say. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Non-Fatal Shooting in the area of Tireman and Epworth

On June 6, around 1:30 a.m. in the area of Tireman and Epworth, the 30-year-old man was at the gas station, pumping gas when three suspects in a silver vehicle pulled up and fired shots, striking the victim in the body.

Police say the victim drove himself to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Non-Fatal Shooting in the 8800 block of Wyoming

On June 6, around 2 a.m. in the 8800 block of Wyoming, the 54-year-old male victim (driver) along with a 53-year-old male passenger were driving in a white 1999 Dodge Ram when unknown suspect(s) fired shots striking the victim.

Medics transported him to a local hospital where he was listed in temp. serious condition. The passenger was not injured, police say.

Triple Non-Fatal Shooting in the 14200 block of Crescent Drive

On June 6, 2020 around 3:20 a.m. in the 14200 block of Crescent Dr., unknown suspect fired shots at an outside gathering injuring three victims – a 34-year-old woman, 24-year-old man and 26-year-old woman.

The victims were privately conveyed to a local hospital and all victims were listed in temp. serious condition.
