Police investigate 5th armed robbery near Wayne State University campus

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating yet another robbery in the area of Wayne State University.

According to police, a 38-year-old male victim got off the bus and was walking eastbound on Brainard from 2nd when two suspects got out of a dark-colored sedan and approached the victim.

One suspect pointed a gun at the victim, while the second suspect went through the victim's pockets.

The first suspect pointing the gun began hitting the victim with the pistol.

Both suspects, wearing black ski masks, took off in the dark-colored sedan with the victim's items, police say. They made off with his backpack, cell phone, keys and wallet.

According to police, the victim refused medical treatment.

This appears to the 5th robbery in the midtown area near Wayne State University in the past week.
