Police investigate body found in grass in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are working to determine what led up to a fatal shooting on Detroit's west side overnight.

Officers were dispatched to Plymouth and Terry for reports of a shooting around 5:10 a.m.

People at the scene told police they saw the victim's body on the grass after hearing gunshots ring out.

Police say the 29-year-old victim was shot in the armpit area and pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Right now, the suspect is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
