DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are trying to track down a suspect involved in a triple shooting on the city's east side overnight.

According to police, neighbors were at a block party near Hamburg and 7 Mile when the shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. Three victims were hit, including two 17-year-olds.

It all happened just down the street from Robert's Coney Island in the area of 7 Mile and Hamburg.

One Coney Island employee told 7 Action News reporter Jenn Schanz a shooting victim entered the restaurant around 1 a.m., seeking help – his shirt drenched in blood.

"And I could see in his shoulder he had a bullet hole. We gave him towels to put pressure on it so it didn’t bleed more," she said.

The two 17-year-olds, who suffered gunshot wounds to the body, were taken to local hospitals – one in stable condition, the other in serious condition. The 24-year-old victim suffered graze wounds and has been listed in stable condition, according to police.

Right now, the suspect is unknown. It's also unclear what led up to the shooting.

Multiple casings were recovered at the scene, police said.

Victor Fuqua lives on Hamburg, and was driving home from work when he saw the block party, which he said was packed with mostly teenagers and people in their early 20s.

According to Fuqua, the crowd blocked the street. He estimated hundreds of people were there.

"It was a lot of people and I was like I hope nothing don’t happen. Because normally when there’s that many people, things tends to happen," he said.

Fuqua told Action News he heard several gunshots.

"From the sound of it, it was maybe like 4 or 5 different guns," he told Action News.

The investigation is ongoing.
