Police investigating 2 non-fatal shootings overnight in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating two non-fatal shootings that occurred Saturday. Both victims are listed in temporary serious condition at local hospitals, police say.

The first shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the area of Junction and Kopernick, and is being investigated by DPD's 4th Precinct.

A 20-year-old man was walking from a store when he heard several gunshots believed to be from an older model Chevy Impala. The car then traveled northbound on Junction Street.

The victim told police that he eventually realized that he had been shot in his leg. He was then taken to a local hospital by an ambulance and listed in temporary serious condition.

The second shooting, which happened around 9:42 p.m. Saturday, took place in the 20400 block of Wyoming. DPD's 12th Precinct is investigating.

A 32-yer-old man was walking when two unknown men began shooting at him, striking him multiple times in the body. The victim then went to a location in the 10000 block of W. 8 Mile Road and called 911. He was then taken to a local hospital and treated. He's in temporary serious condition.
