The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run fatal traffic crash involving a white truck and a pedestrian.
The crash occurred early Monday at 12:23 a.m. on southbound Gratiot near Wellington Crescent.
Police say a white truck was traveling southbound in the left through lane when the victim was walking from the west side of the road to the east. The victim was struck on the passenger side of the window, and when he was struck, the passenger side mirror was broken off.
The truck did not stop and went to a car wash between southbound and northbound Gratiot, then fled northbound on Gratiot.
A bystander who heard the crash found the man in the roadway and flagged someone down to call emergency services.
The victim was taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital where he died from his injuries.
