WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police have identified and arrested two suspects connected to a murder at Waterford Township motel on March 19.
The suspects were taken into custody in Detroit after Waterford police partnered with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team.
A search warrant was executed at a Detroit home and investigators were able to recover evidence related to the murder, including three handguns and ammunition.
Detectives say they will present their findings to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and authorization of warrants.
According to police, the murder happened at the McGuire's Motel on S. Telegraph Rd. just south of M-59 around 7:47 p.m.
Police say officers found a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He received medical attention at the scene and was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say both suspects are expected to be arraigned sometime Tuesday.
