Police investigating Detroit freeway shootings on I-94 and I-96

Michigan State Police say a third victim was shot at 3 a.m. at I-96 and Livernois in Detroit, at approximately the same time as the shooting on I-96 and Davidson. 

The victim was not injured; A bullet hole was located in the victim's vehicle and the bullet was recovered. 

At this time, police say there is no relationship between any of the victims, but detectives are treating all three incidents having the same suspect. 

A gray or silver sedan was seen at two of the three incidents.

6:31 a.m.

I-94 westbound is now shut down at Conner following the freeway shooting. 

6:22 a.m.

Michigan State Police says two highway shootings happened within ten minutes of each other this morning. The first was on I-94 near Harper where a driver was shot in the leg. The second happened at I-96 and Davison where the vehicle was hit but not the driver. At this time, MSP does not believe the two shootings are related. 

6:11 a.m.

I-96 westbound at Joy has reopened to traffic. 

5:18 a.m.

4:50 a.m.

Michigan State Police is investigating two shootings on two different freeways.

One happened on westbound I-96 at the Davison. The other occurred on westbound I-94 at Harper.

Both victims have been taken to the hospital.

I-96 westbound at Joy has been shut down. 

MSP tells us the shootings are not connected and the investigation will likely impact the morning commute.
