Standoff ends with man inside Grosse Pointe home

Grosse Pointe police say the standoff with a man inside a home that started early this morning has ended peacefully.

We're told the suspect surrendered to police more than three hours after the standoff started. No one was injured.

Police say there were no weapons in the possession of the 47-year-old man.

Grosse Pointe police continue to be on scene of a standoff with a man barricaded inside a home.

Police tell 7 Action News that the man is alone in the home as other family members got out safely. It's not known if he is armed. 

According to police, it's happening in the 700 block of Rivard, and police have closed Rivard south of Mack while the situation is ongoing.

Right now, details are slim but we're told they're trying to talk to a man barricaded inside a second floor bedroom.

There is no word on why police were called to the scene in the first place, but SRT was called in to assist the situation.
