DETROIT (WXYZ) — The father of the 9-year-old boy who was accidentally shot in Detroit has been arrested.
The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. at a home in the 10500 block of Morang, near I-94 and Moross on the city's east side. Detroit police say a father was inside the home cleaning his handgun when it discharged and struck his 9-year-old child.
The father took the boy to the hospital, where he is listed in temporary serious condition.
The weapon has been recovered and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
