Two wounded in shootout at party store in Detroit

Two people were hurt following a shootout outside of a party store on Detroit's East Side.

Police say a number of people had gathered in the parking lot at Carmen's Party Store on Gratiot near East State Fair around 1:20 a.m.

Police say there was an argument between a man and a woman and the party store clerk came out to intervene. Shots were fired between the clerk and another man.

The 63-year-old clerk was shot in both legs.

Police say the other shooter, a 27-year-old man, was shot in the torso.

The conditions of the two men are unknown as this time.
