Redford Union High School was placed under lockdown Friday morning after a student brought a BB gun to the school, according to Redford Township Police.
Officials say the student showed the BB gun to another student who reported it to the School Resource Officer.
The Officer confronted the student, who turned over the gun.
The BB gun was not brandished in a threatening way, police say.
Police and school administrators are investigating the incident, and the student is being detained.
