(WXYZ) — Warren police confirm the suspect wanted in connection to two stabbings in metro Detroit this morning, one fatal, is now in custody.

Police said the suspect was arrested near Van Dyke and Cadillac around the noon hour. He was arrested without incident, police said.

The suspect along with the suspect vehicle was reportedly turned over to Roseville police.

Roseville police said they were called to the 32000 block of Gratiot around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning and found a woman’s body with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. She was in Belle Tire's parking lot near the tire air pump.

Police said they were also working with detectives from St. Clair Shores after an assault happened there around 6:30 a.m.

We’re told the victim in that incident was at a bus stop in the area of Barton and Harper when he was stabbed.

“It’s a very sad state of the world right now. I just think things like this are becoming more and more prevalent. It’s a scary time, and I think people need to be really cautious and keep their eyes open and look out for each other," said Deborah Vitale, who owns a business near the bus stop.

The suspect was believed to have been armed with 4-inch fixed blade style hunting knife with a black handle and black blade.

Albert Springer, who works near the scene of the arrest in Warren, recalls the suspect was shirtless as police handcuffed him. However, he said he thought nothing of the arrest until he heard it was related to the stabbings.

“I feel so bad for the person’s family that had to deal with that this morning. Honestly man, it’s some crazy people out here. Humanity, yea, it’s pretty sad," he said.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to call police at 586-777-6700.
