It sits all alone on a hill.

It’s not a house, but a hospital and some say it’s haunted.

The Halloween season brings thrill seekers to its doorsteps, but beware. The old Northville Psychiatric Hospital has the police keeping a watchful eye.

The Northville Township Police Department is beefing up patrols. If you are caught on the property, you will receive a ticket and have to pay a $500.

Oftentimes, officers make custodial arrests and take offenders to the police station.

Lt. Michael Burrough with the Northville Township Police Department means business. He is warning everyone to stay off of the property. Trespassing signs are posted for that reason.

It’s not just about not wanting people to see what’s inside. It’s not worth the risk.

“That building is not safe. There is debris, they’re broken glass all over there. And probably, most importantly, there is asbestos in the air there. We don’t want anyone breathing that in,” says Burrough.

So, we decided to feed your curiosity.

John Wagner runsthe North Regional Psychiatric Hospital Facebook Page. He labels himself a thrill seeker who spent years touring the old facility.

Now, he does not recommend anyone go inside. However, he is offering folks to take a journey through his page and see the sights and sounds safely and without paying a hefty fine.

“It’s like going on an adventure,” he says, for free!
