Democratic voters in Michigan’s 13th Congressional have decided to send John Conyers on to the November ballot.
Conyers was in a primary battle with Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey.
Conyers it the current Dean of the U.S. House of Representatives. He replaced John Dingell as Dean when Dingell retired following the 2014 elections.
The 87-year-old Conyers was first elected to the U.S. House in 1964.
Having served 51-years in the House, Conyers is currently the 6th longest serving member of the U.S. Congress of all time.
