WXYZ DETROIT — On Sunday, August 1, Spotlight on the News will interview Eric W. Lupher, President of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan about the Tuesday, August 3rd Primary Election and why it's so important to the bottom line of the Great Lakes State. We'll also introduce you to Aaron Richard Jr., one of the inaugural Cornelius A. Smith and William F. Pickard Friendship and Alliance HBCU Scholars, as well as Lisa Williams, an educator and a member of the scholarship committee.

Spotlight on the News, now in its 56th season, is Michigan's longest-running weekly news and public affairs television program. It airs every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 in Detroit, is streamed live on wxyz.com and broadcast at 11:30 a.m. on 23.1 WKAR-HD in East Lansing.
