The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office say they are looking for a man that may have been out to kidnap children playing in a backyard in the 8000 block of Lilly, near Tuttle Hill Road and Textile Road.

The mother of the children, who wishes to remain anonymous, says three of her four children were playing outside with the scary incident occurred. All her children are under the age of ten.

The mother tells 7 Action News that the man motioned his finger to his mouth as if to tell the kids to be quiet, and then motioned them over to him with the other hand.

"I'm terrified, I mean I'm glad I saw him. He ran in the house and said 'there's a stranger,'" she said.

She ran outside to confront the man, and he ran away of foot towards the woods behind her house.

Deputies brought in a K-9 to track the woods but were not successful in locating the suspect.

"We talk about it every day, every time they go outside I'm always like, 'you know you stay within this perimeter, if you see anyone you just yell stranger and run straight into the house,'" she added.

Washtenaw Deputies are looking were given the following description on the suspect:

  • Medium built man in his 20s or 30s
  • Around five foot nine to ten inches tall
  • Sandy blonde hair or light brown hair
  • Last seen wearing a black shirt, grey jogging pants and a grey baseball cap
