Detroit police are investigating after a possible human organ was found Friday night at a waste water treatment plant in southwest Detroit, police said.

It happened at about 7:30 p.m. when a plant employee called police after finding what appeared to be a possible kidney or liver.

The Water Water Treatment Plant is located at 9300 W. Jefferson, near Dearborn Street and West Jefferson in Southwest Detroit.

Detroit police took a report and contacted the Wayne County Medical Examiner to take the suspected organ for further inspection, police said.
