Police are investigating a private helicopter crash in Orchard Lake that injured a pilot.
According to the Orchard Lake Police Department, a man in his 80s was forced to make a "hard landing" just before 3 p.m. on Monday at 5652 Pontiac Trail.
The pilot was conscious and then transported to Beaumont Farmington where he sustained non-life threatening injuries.
No information has been released on what caused the sudden landing.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
