ReEntry Job Fair to help former inmates

Posted

The push is on to get recently-released inmates back into the workforce.

It's a huge undertaking involving the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Michigan Department of Corrections, Mayor's Office and the U.S. Probation Department.

They are planning to hold re-entry job fair next month in an effort to help those former prisoners find jobs after they are released back into their community.

It will be held Tuesday, October 27 at the Northwest Activities Center in Detroit.

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade joined on The Now Detroit to discuss the program.

The hotline for employers who would like to participate is 313-226-9658.
