A fisherman is showing off a giant Muskie that he pulled out of the Detroit River, in the shadow of the Renaissance Center.

Kelby Spake, Ryan Pendleton and Joe Marquardt were fishing Monday when the giant fish grabbed hold of a line.

It took the buddies about 20 minutes to bring the fish in. They were then able to determine that it weighed about 20 pounds.

They say up until the fish bit, it had been a slow day.

Since Muskie is currently out of season, Spake says they quickly snapped a picture of Marquardt holding the fish and then threw it back into the river.

Muskie season on the Detroit River runs from June 3rd to December 15th this year.
