A 7-month-old baby was killed on Saturday evening in a house fire on the Detroit's west side. We're told the fire happened around 5 p.m. on Lindsay St.
It's believed at least six people were inside the home at the time, all of whom were able to make it out safely except for the baby.
Some neighbors rushed to the house and when they heard the baby was still trapped inside, one of them went in through a side door to try and rescue the child.
According to neighbors, there were several children at the home while their mother was reportedly at work.
At this time, officials say they don't believe the fire is suspicious, and sources say preliminary investigation shows a candle was knocked over.
