An elderly man was critically injured in a hit and run accident on Detroit’s north east side. His road to the recovery has been long and it's not over yet.

However, he decided to sit down with 7 Action News, to talk about the day that nearly killed him, the suspect - who is still at large - and his plans to fight for his future.

Seventy-six-year-old Robert Grossman was hit by a car while riding his bicycle at Joseph Campau and East Robinwood. It happened in board daylight, in late January.

Grossman has been an avid cyclist, working actor and musician since he was a kid. He’s working hard at Maple Manor in Novi.

Mr. Grossman just wants his life back, the way it was.

He does something to say to the person to hit him and ran.

“I'm really sorry for the person. More than any other reason, I'm sorry that they didn't stop because they have to live with that all the rest of their lives,” says Grossman.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward in this case. So, if you know something about the driver, the vehicle to anything at all about what happened, say something.
