DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating a deadly crash at the Chrysler Jefferson North Assembly Plant.
It's located on Kercheval and St. Jean on the City's east side..
The fatal crash happened early Saturday morning.
Witnesses say a male employee at the plant entered the parking lot at a high rate of speed and crashed into a pole.
The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames.
Two nearby workers tried to pull the victim from the car, but were unable to.
The victim died at the scene. Police say he was burned beyond recognition.
The two men that tried to rescue him were both treated for burns to their hands and smoke inhalation.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
