Detroit Police cruiser involved in accident

Posted

A Detroit Police patrol car collided with another car near the intersection of Livernois and Curtis on the city's west side.

Officers say it happened around 8:30 pm.

Police say an elderly woman in her 80s was driving the other car, when the two vehicles smashed into each other.

Police say their car had lights and sirens on as they were making their way to a call.

The woman's car flipped several times, and she had to be cut out of the car. Witnesses say she gave a thumbs up as she was taken to the hospital.

The two officers were also injured, dealing with back and neck pain.

The investigation continues into who was at fault.

We're told the woman had a Bible on her lap and was making her way to a nearby church.
