DPD Lt. suing department, claiming cover-up

and last updated

A well-respected Detroit police lieutenant is suing the department and exposing what he claims to be a cover-up in an investigation of overtime fraud.

Lt. Joe Tucker always wanted to be a Detroit police officer. His parents were both officers and so was his grandmother. Policing was in his blood.

After a short time in corporate America, the badge was calling his name and in 1993 he joined the Detroit Police Department.  Through the years, he worked his way up through the ranks and became a Lieutenant, heading up the departments Special Victims Unit.

Then, his professional career came crashing down.
